Dr. Hijab Mehta

After completing MS ophthalmology and topping the Mumbai University in 2000,she was selected for a long term fellowship in Cornea and anterior segment at the prestigious, World Class, L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. She continued as faculty there, in the department of Cornea and refractive surgery for a year. She was consultant and Head of Anterior segment department for 3 years at Dr S Natarajan’s Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital. She has performed thousands of phacoemulsification (stitch less cataract surgeries), Lasik procedures (laser to remove spectacle number), and Keratoplasties (eye transplant). She is one of the few surgeons in the country with experience in Cultured Limbal stem cell transplant (Autologous and Living related) for ocular surface disorders. She has performed live surgeries in CME’s and has a number of presentations at national and international conferences and publications in peer reviewed literature.
